Cast considerations
I have picked four male and one female character to star in
my 5 minute clip from my movie. The names of these characters are Harry, Sean,
Jordy, Ali and Jayne M but before I got to make these my main characters I went
through a number of cast considerations in which I had to narrow down to five
characters. I will talk to you about why I had to make some vital decisions of
why not to pick certain actors and actresses for certain roles.
The role of harry:
The main role of harry is played by Harry Rendell and he is
the main leader of the gang; he’s like the ring leader of them all and will
always be at the top of an idea when coming to terrorising the local
neighbourhood, Harry’s appearance is what you would expect, he is very innocent
looking and quite young in the face, he is medium height and an average build
but he is far from innocent as a character. Two other people were cast for the
role, they were callum and Graeme but unfortunately they did not get cast for
the role as although they done very they just didn’t lack enough enthusiasm and
uniqueness to be picked for the main role, they did not quite grasp the role
and didn’t seem to understand the character of harry as they did not seem to
get that even though the character is evil they didn’t have that innocence
about them in order to convince and audience.
The role of Sean:
The role of Sean is play by Sean Caddick and he is kind of
second in command and he basically does all of the dirty work for Harry. For
example if Harry wants someone beat up Sean will do this for him no questions
asked, the appearance of this character is he is tall but slim and he has very
menacing look on his faceand you can tell he is not a genuine man and is just
as evil as his other gang members. So Robert
and Elliot were auditioning for this part but despite both of them being very
experienced I decided to pick Sean Caddick because the other two didn’t really
get a hold of what the character was about they both acted out as if they were
the top dog and didn’t get into the character, which was to be Harry’s side
kick and not the leader, so unfortunately neither of them had what it takes to
be Harry’s second in command.
The role of Jordy:
Jordy is the youngest of the gang and he is played by Jordan
Farrell. Jordy is quite small but has quite a big build for his size and this
is a very good trait for him because despite his height he is still strong
enough to defend himself. He is shown up
a lot in the group and is terrorised a lot by Harry and Sean but when it comes
to it he can just be as mean and brutal as the others when helping out the
gang. Connor and Elliot were the two main contenders for the role before I
chose Jordan but in the end I could not pick them as both of them despite being
very enthusiastic they just did not have enough experience and this was shown
in their auditions as both of them just kept making silly mistakes in which
beginners do make but I could not afford for this to be happening in my movie.
The role of Ali:
Ali has just moved onto the estate and he is recognised as
the main character as everything revolves around him throughout the film. He is
played by Alexander Birmingham, he is very well dressed, handsome young man he
has a very innocent look in his face and you can tell he is from a middle class
family from his experience. I decided to pick Alex because he is a very
experienced actor and in his audition he was flawless and his look just fitted
perfect into the character I wanted for Alex, that look of innocence was what
got him the role.
The role of Jayne M:
Jayne M is played by Olivia Clarke and her role is that she
is the mother of Ali, She has medium length hair that runs just past the shoulders,
and a side fringe that she pushes back and clips. She is a trendy mum, that
keeps up with the latest style magazines. She prides herself on her appearance.
#Fabulous. She has blonde hair but with very small un noticeable grey roots, this
shows that she likes to keep on top of her hair dye, and fears going grey as it
will make her look her age, which she has always dreaded.
