Choices
Before I start construction and filming I felt that I should
investigate and source possible locations for filming, compiling recce reports
for the locations. In my recce reports I look to assess the locations and see
whether they are viable, containing numerous elements which I should be aware
of. Safety is paramount and so I need to ensure all locations are safe and
suitable for filming. Feature/elements I look for are:
• Health
and safety concerns
• Parking
or equipment access
• Electrical
outlets/power supplies
• Available
lighting sources
• Requirement
of permissions to film on the site
• Viable in
creating a suitable and intended atmosphere
• Space and
filming possibilities
• Area for
casting, shooting, equipment
2 trooper close:
I am filming my scenes in trooper close because it is
appropriate for my script fits the detail of a local or normal close or road.
Also because I believe it fits all of the requirements above and the close is
big enough to fit all of my equipment in. there will be minimal health and
safety reasons as it will be filmed early in the morning so all of the
residents in the close will be in work, so even moving cars will not be a
problem as none will be getting used so because of this the opposite close is
free and will be available for our team to park. The electrical outlets and
power supplies will come from the house you see on the picture for this scene,
the owners of the house have allowed us to do this after we asked permission,
we have done tests and checks to make sure this houses power outlet will
support all of our equipment and everything went well and should be fine for
the day of filming. The area of casting is again in the exact same road, we
have sent one of our team out prior to filming to make sure all of the
equipment will fit when we will be shooting, the quick check up went well and
again it will be fine for the day of filming. Lighting on the day should be no
problem as we are filming in the morning and we have checked the weather report
for that day prior to going and it is predicted to be bright and quite dry.
Finally the close opposite has allowed for us to park up there, so that has
been sorted for the day also and we have recently sent a letter around to the
residents off trooper close(place of filming) and the close opposite to say
what will be happening on the day and everyone is happy with this and has no
problems with us filming on that specific day.
